Cal Nu Charter Restored

I am pleased to say that on Saturday night, October 17, 2009, Martin Wiglesworth, Eminent Supreme Archon of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, presented the Charter back to California Nu.
The dinner was at the Warner Hilton on Canoga. The event was attended by the undergraduate brothers and pledges, of course, but also a great number of alumni attended, not to mention brothers from several chapters in the Province, representatives from sororities and fraternities at CSUN, and a number of guests.
Robert Fowlie, David Peterson, Robert Kari, Gary Jackson, and I were there from the Pi Kappa Tau era.
The evening began with an private initiation of the colony brothers. The national fraternity's leaders themselves were there to conduct the initiation--ESA Wiglesworth, Eminent Supreme Recorder Steven Priepke, Eminent Supreme Chronicler Brad Cohen, SAE Extension Coordinator Ryan Wise, Cockrell Regional Director Shay Stewart, and Province Chi Archon Howard Wood. Some of Cal Nu's alumni such as Dorian Quispe, David Peterson, and Jon Bonesteele also had important parts in the ritual.
On one table the Cal Nu Alumni Association gathered some of the fraternity's history--some Pi Kappa Tau pledge paddles, an album with a page for each pledge class from then 'til now, the Pi Kappa Tau & SAE correspondence from 1963 through the chartering in 1967, and so forth.
All in all, it was a great evening.
