Weghorst & the Blue RoadTrip

Subscribing to the philosophy that growing older is mandatory, but growing up is optional, George Weghorst decided to take a roadtrip and sent this note: "In fact I am typing this email from a motel room just outside of Knoxville TN where I flew in last Thurs a.m., rented a big Harley and took off for KY and eastern TN. I'm just wrapping up about 1200 miles, have one more day tomorrow and catch a 6 p.m. flight back to Portland. In fact, I'll attach a shot of me in front of a funky barber shop in the back hollows of KY where I stopped to get a trim. I tend to do that just about everywhere I go now, ever since I got a haircut one day from a "Barber in Seville' while traveling in Spain. I figure the worst that can happen is that it will take a few weeks to grow in."

After four days of attempting to post a note on the blog, I'm in !
I check the blog most every day to keep up with the brother's activities, and Stu's note re: Pismo is " telling "
It's a shame, in my opinion, that more brothers don't or can't get on to share ideas or concerns. John's request for changes in the roster would require an e-mail rather then a comment to the blog for most brothers. Things like " when Jeff Matz is going to be sprung " or " what's the current condition of Dick Law " are things we'd like to know but are unable to inquire since it's a bear to get on.
I spoke with Aladdin last month and he inquired in his usual manner " about the brothers". He's doing as well as can be expected in that neighborhood, but he's still alive and unable to discuss those things on the phone. His son, Dr. Nadar, and wife are OK, and son Nadar has a working e-mail address that can get to Al. I'm sure he'd like to hear from as many of you as possible, to bolster his spirits.
For now, I'm going to leap off my soap box, and looking forward to seeing you all in Pismo. I'm also looking forward to reading comments about this note.

Pi Kap Roster Review & Update

Brothers,
We need to update the roster ASAP. Please send changes to me.
As the November retreat approaches, we will be needing to contact all the brothers, and it is sadly true that the list is always about 20% out-of-date.
Please take a look at the addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers on the list. Please be sure your own information is correct. Many times we've gotten good corrections from another brother--such as when Olster noticed Pollard had moved to northern California and sent me a scathing reprimand.
In our mobile and technological world today, of course, moving, changes in Internet and email services, cellphone companies, and so forth make it hard to keep everyone else informed of where we are.

PISMO 2007: November 2-4

Brothers:

It is almost Retreat time! We are scheduled to meet once again in Pismo Beach on the weekend of November 2-4 (1-4 for the Thursday arrivers). Remember, our Retreats are always the first weekends of May and November at 18 month intervals.

Not everybody reads the Forum these days, so will those of you who do please e mail or phone several brothers who don't and get the word around. The roster may not be completely up to date, especially with e mail addresses which tend to change every other month (like Bordofsky's underwear).

I am asking our Pismo representative and solid citizen, Rick Turton, to commence making the necessary inquiries and arrangements. As soon as the details and cost are available, they will be circulated. In the meantime, pick a roommate and put the dates on your calendars.

I look forward to another successful gathering and I fully expect that our current Krieger Award holder, Bob Kari, will pass the Award on to a most worthy successor.

Some of us oldsters will give a seminar on the Medicare system. Don't miss it!
