Ronald Gale Leamon of Williamsburg died Dec. 17, 2010.

He was "Cappaw" to his grandsons, whom he loved dearly; best friend and be­loved hus­band to his wife; loving father to his daugh­ter and son-in-law; a devoted brother; and stalwart friend. He could captivate you with a story, and charm his way into your heart with his smile. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Leamon is survived by his wife, Roberta (Bobbi) Leamon (nee Butz) of Williamsburg; his daughter, Crystal Fletcher, and son-in-law, Hunter Fletcher; two grandsons, Chase and Logan Fletcher, and step-grandson, Kyle Fletcher of West Point; and his brother, Houston Leamon of Reno, Nev.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert D. Leamon, and his mother, E. Berniece Leamon (nee Pitts).

He was born Dec. 12, 1948, in Southern California, and raised there. He moved to Williamsburg on Valentine's Day 1979. He worked as security manager for Busch Gardens and as a group manager at Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas this year, he fought valiently to overcome the disease. His optomistic and cheerful attitude throughout the ordeal gave comfort to his family and friends. He died peacefully at Williamsburg Sentara Hospital with his wife, daughter, and brother at his side.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. at 2007 Legacy Hall, 4301 Newtown Ave., Williamsburg.
